Dexter's community helps lost pets get home and helps pets find new families. These guidelines keep it safe and useful. They are part of our Terms of use.
1. Post real, accurate information
- Post only about real pets and real situations.
- Use your own photos, or photos you have permission to share.
- Keep details accurate and update or close your post when the situation changes, for example when a lost pet is found.
2. Adoption, not sales
- Adoption posts are for rehoming pets, not selling them. Don't ask for a price, deposit or "rehoming fee" beyond what a registered rescue lawfully charges.
- No breeding adverts, puppy or kitten sales, or posts for animals that are illegal to keep or trade where you live.
- Follow local rules on rehoming, vaccination and microchipping.
3. Protect people and animals
- No cruelty, neglect, fighting or content that shows animals being harmed.
- No threats, harassment, hate, sexual content or bullying.
- Don't share other people's private information, such as a phone number or home address, without their permission. Think carefully before sharing your own.
- Don't impersonate anyone or a rescue organisation.
4. Stay safe when meeting
- Meet in a public place, and take someone with you.
- Be cautious if someone asks for money, gift cards or personal details before you've met. These are common scams.
- House of Dexter doesn't check users or animals and isn't part of any arrangement between users.
5. Report and block
Use Report on any post, reply or profile that breaks these guidelines, and Block to hide a person's content from you. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features or close accounts. In serious cases, such as threats to someone's safety or animal cruelty, we may contact the authorities.
